I’m Cate, the creator behind The Southern Story Scribbler.

I love lists, so here’s some fun/random facts about me with bullet points. 😀

• I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in English and History (double major for the win!) and am now pursuing my master’s in technical communication.
• I am a history buff (see above), and will talk to you for hours about Joan of Arc, Ancient Rome and Greece, the emergence of Christianity in early England and Ireland, World War II, Egyptian mummies, Cold War Germany… yeah, I’ve got a thing for historical eras.
• I’m not a linguaphile in the aspect that I can fluently speak multiple languages, but I know a little bit of French, I’ve been trying out my Spanish, I know some ASL signs to get by, and I can read basic Latin.
• I can cook, I have attempted to bake, and I’ve become a little bit of a barista since coffee shop coffee is super expensive.
• I have fandoms ranging from the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show to Peter Pan, to Dracula and assorted vampire stories, to Lord of the Rings and Sherlock. I’m a little scattered.
• I’ve visited over 10 different states, and my goal is to make it to at least 25 (I mean, I’d let to get them all, but I’ll take half).
• I live in the Mid-South (hence the blog name), but I have one parent from Kansas and the other from Tennessee, so I’m equal parts Midwestern Plains and Southern gal (and no, I do not have an accent).
• I’m a natural redhead; this is my real hair color.
